"My 4th great
Grandfather,
William J. Johnson, was a Milton township (Glen Ellyn) pioneer
serving
as county treasurer in the early 1850's. His ancesters
arrived in New Hampshire in 1742 from Scotland (not England, as
suggested in the caption below). William's grandfather,
Adam Johnson Jr., was a Captain out of NH in the Revolutionary
war. Adam Sr. was married to the great grandaughter of Rebecca
Nurse, one of the most prominent "Witches" executed in Salem."
